SD C04 Hot Cross Bun activity: tag Steps 3-5 as (Validation) Steps 3 (taste blind), 4 (crown winner) and 5 (develop further) all operate on scored data — they're the validation phase as flagged in the earlier 'matrix vs scores' callout. Headings now carry (Validation) so the C4-2-checkpoint vs U4O1-validation split is visible from the table of contents. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

SD C04 Hot Cross Bun activity: promote FR/NFR reminder to a TIP callout Wrap the SRS-scanning reminder in [!TIP] so the actionable advice is visually flagged rather than buried in body text. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

SD C04 Hot Cross Bun activity: remind Step 2 to scan FR and NFR for matrix criteria Add a closing sentence after the Step 2 bullets pointing students at both halves of their SRS — functional requirements (what the system must do) and non-functional requirements (how well — speed, usability, accessibility, security) — as candidate matrix rows. SD C04 Hot Cross Bun activity: link Step 2 heading to the SRS page The matrix is built for what the SRS says the system has to do, so the Step 2 heading now points at the Evaluation Criteria and the SRS page. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

SD C04 Hot Cross Bun activity: remove duplicate persona block from Step 1 The previous commit added a new Step 2 with persona/design-decisions content, but the SAME content was still sitting at the end of Step 1 (it had survived the earlier trim). Step 1 now ends cleanly at the Source line as intended; only Step 2 carries the persona block, with the correct 'come back in Step 5' reference. SD C04 Hot Cross Bun activity: split Step 2 'what is your matrix built for' from Step 3 tasting Reinstate the persona / design-decisions content (extracted from the previous Step 1) as its own Step 2 focused on what the matrix is built for — the requirement/feature driving the design decisions. Rename Step 1 to 'Read CHOICE's matrix' since it no longer covers persona work, only the inspection of CHOICE's existing matrix. Renumber the rest: old Step 2 (taste blind) -> Step 3; old Step 3 (crown winner) -> Step 4; old Step 4 (develop further) -> Step 5. Internal 'they come back in Step 4' updated to 'Step 5'. SD C04 Hot Cross Bun activity: add 'matrix vs scores' callout bridging C4-2 and validation After the CYU section, add an [!IMPORTANT] callout: the CHOICE cards show both the matrix (criteria, weights, formula — the C4-2 checkpoint deliverable) AND the scores (filled in when real products are tested — the validation). One artifact, two jobs; the matrix has to exist before the scores can mean anything. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

SD C04 Hot Cross Bun activity: trim Step 1 and add CYU on the 95 calculation Step 1 now ends at the Source line — methodology callout, worked-example matrix, four-moves explainer and persona closing all removed. A new 'Check Your Understanding' section follows, asking 'What is the score of 95 calculated for Woolworths Bakery Chocolate?'. The folded answer reveals the CHOICE Expert Rating is the 50/50 average of Toasted (97%) and Fresh (93%) scores: (97+93)/2 = 95. Cross-checked on Coles: (83+87)/2 = 85. The answer surfaces three lessons: Toasted/ Fresh weighted equally, Price per bun NOT in the Expert Rating, Buns per pack nowhere in the calculation (confirming it isn't a criterion). SD C04 Hot Cross Bun activity: add CHOICE product cards image (recreated) Embed a recreated CHOICE-style product-card image above the existing data table in Step 1. Same data, two channels: visual cards for recognition (students can match what they see on choice.com.au), table for scanning and screen readers. Real product photos and the four CHOICE data columns (Toasted, Fresh, Buns per pack, Price per bun) are visible at a glance, reinforcing the 'four columns, three criteria' lesson. PNG rendered from HTML (Chrome headless) and committed to the OtterWiki attachment folder. Source line now credits CHOICE for card layout, data and product photography. SD C04 Hot Cross Bun activity: surface CHOICE's four data columns and flag 'buns per pack' as a non-criterion Lead the methodology callout with 'four columns of data — but only three are criteria' so the shape is unmistakable. Worked-example table now uses the four CHOICE columns as visible section headers, with student criteria slotted under each. The Fresh and Buns per pack sections appear explicitly as 'dropped — persona toasts' and 'not a criterion — never makes the matrix' — teaching what NOT to put in. Four-moves explainer replaces three-moves: adds the 'never used Buns per pack' negative case so the not-a-criterion lesson lands. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

SD C04 Hot Cross Bun activity: anchor Step 1 worked-example matrix to CHOICE methodology Each criterion now shows the CHOICE element it sits under (Flavour 50%, Appearance 20%, Aroma 15%, Texture 15%, Price per bun). New CHOICE methodology callout shows the source weights students are remixing. 'Three moves vs CHOICE' explainer makes the design decisions explicit: split Flavour into Flavour + Traditional, add Value, drop the Fresh score (persona toasts). SD C04 Hot Cross Bun activity: anchor Step 1 to two real CHOICE-reviewed buns Replace the abstract 'two or three brands' framing in Step 1 with a real comparison: Woolworths Bakery Chocolate (CHOICE Expert 95) vs Coles Finest Luxurious Fruit (Expert 85), using CHOICE's March 2025 review data. Pedagogy: CHOICE's 95-vs-85 ranking is presented as one valid result from *one* matrix. A 'traditional Easter breakfast' persona pulls Coles into direct contention, demonstrating that 'different persona, different shape of decision — same data'. New 'Notes' column on the worked-example matrix shows where to use CHOICE data as input vs sanity check. Scoring sheet updated to the two named brands instead of A/B/C. SD C04 Hot Cross Bun activity: refocus on the 'which elements to develop further' C4-2 deliverable Drop the stress-test step (tangential to the new focus) and replace with a new Step 4 — Decide what to develop further. Teaches two sources for the develop-further list: (a) where the winner scored weakest in the matrix, and (b) requirements the matrix didn't score (worked example: packaging — out of the matrix because it doesn't change how the bun eats, but still required to 'attract customers to consider buying it'). Add CHOICE hot cross buns review-and-compare source link. Cross-link the new CHOICE Headphones — Spotting Efficiency and Effectiveness page. SD C04: add Hot Cross Bun Matrix activity page; link from design guide and C04-home Hands-on Use-Modify-Create activity: design + run + defend an evaluation matrix on 2-3 bun brands, with blind tasting, independent scoring, persona stress-test, a blank scoring template, and transfer to C4-2/U4 O1. Original example (not reproducing CHOICE's data); links the CHOICE bun video. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
